We have a longstanding family tradition to travel to our favorite winter travel destination, Mammoth Mountain in California. We are always very excited to embark on this annual winter trip with our family and friends. After we set our home security alarm from www.SecurityChoice.com we depart in a caravan with five cars and we usually stop for lunch midway to the mountain.

Mammoth Mountain is great because of the family oriented atmosphere and quaint shops and restaurants. There are so many activities we love to enjoy while in Mammoth such as dog sledding, ice skating and of course skiing the gorgeous powdery slopes. The ski school for children in Mammoth is incredible. Our daughters picked up in one day what took my husband and I weeks to learn. The instructors are well trained and great with teaching kids.

What we love most about Mammoth is the village where all of the great restaurants and hotels are located. Most of these hotels offer ski in and ski out accessibility. The cross country skiing here is great and there are so many wonderful points that you can experience the incredible view in Mammoth. The mountain attracts a very laid back crowd of people. Most travel from Southern California because it is the best ski resort and within a 6 hour drive from most places. This is our favorite destination.
